Full and Partial Dentures
Full dentures are used to replace an entire arch of teeth. Commonly held in place with adhesives, these are likely what is called to mind when you think of the word “dentures.” Partial dentures may replace just a few missing teeth. They are typically secured to a metal framework or tooth-colored attachments placed on adjacent teeth. Partial dentures may have a clip or ball and socket attachment by which they can be removed for cleaning.
Both full and partial dentures can restore:
- Biting and chewing abilities
Neither of these options, when secured in traditional fashions, will help prevent structural changes brought about by jaw shrinkage, an unavoidable consequence of losing the roots of teeth. Dental implants alone restore a tooth’s missing root and are the only form of tooth replacement that will prevent jaw collapse.
Implant Supported Dentures
Implant supported dentures enjoy a high success rate, offering a dramatic improvement in comfort and stability over removable alternatives. With this option, you can eliminate floating and clicking issues, even with existing dentures. Imagine: No more misplaced or broken dentures; no more teeth in a glass.
Dr. Marlin recommends implant supported dentures in most all cases where dentures are needed. If you have existing dentures that are no longer meeting your needs, call our office today to schedule a consultation and learn how we can fix issues including ill-fitting dentures and restorations that no longer look or feel natural.
Why Choose Us for Your Implant Supported Dentures?
Creating implant supported dentures is both an art and a science, requiring someone skilled at both to produce ideal results. Patients often come to our office with previously fabricated dentures that do not adequately capture the proper aesthetics, do not fit well, and make them look older. Many patients complain of increased problems chewing as well. Still other patients come to our office with a deteriorating dentition, having lost what is the proper “look” for them.
To correct these problems, the right anatomic teeth have to be chosen and then set appropriately to match each individual’s distinct facial pattern, lip line, smile line, and coloring. Most importantly, the height of the bite, which is usually diminished, needs to be reestablished.
Dr. Marlin is a prosthodontist with long-standing of experience. Trusted and known as an industry leader, Dr. Marlin has inserted and restored over 3,400 dental implants and is known both for his exceptional attention to detail and patient care.
